FORMATION OF THE LABOUR PROTECT TRADE UNION

(Draft Constitution now downloadable for comment and suggestions!)

Labour Protect has for some time being looking at ways of extending its Protection of Workplace Rights.  Our Members are currently not able to have representation in Disciplinary Hearings, Appeals and in many CCMA Hearings in terms of the legal framework.  We believe it is now the time to lead Labour Protect into the established framework recognized and protected in terms of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa. 

Labour Protect has decided to approach the Department of Labour and request the registration of the LABOUR PROTECT TRADE UNION which will give our Members greater clout in protecting their individual and collective Workplace Rights.  Labour Protect will transform into a fully functional Trade Union.

The Constitution of the Labour Protect Trade Union is now downloadable for comments and suggestions  >> DRAFT CONSTITUTION.  This Constitution needs to be approved PRIOR to registration by the Department of Labour.

Please note that comments, suggestions and submissions must be made to admin@labourprotect.co.za on or before close of business on 31 May 2007.  We are anxious for the Constitution to be finalized so that registration can proceed in haste...
